Xbox One - Change of Policies Empty Xbox One - Change of Policies

After reading this, I was a bit shocked that Microsoft came forward and decided to make some bold changes after seemingly not caring last week.  However, read the following link prior to reading my thoughts below.

Xbox One Article: http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update

To be blunt, to me they betrayed their customers trust last week and that isn't going to be easy to regain, even after these changes.  Either way, it still seems to be an unreasonable purchase due to the price and lack of creative content.  Not to forget to mention that the Kinect is still mandatory and will always be on.  Unless they change this in the near future.

However, aside from any further changes and whether or not Halo 5 looks good, I can honestly say I will at least consider the Xbox One again.  Yet, the PS4 and the Wii U still seem to be a more compelling and entertaining purchase within the near future.  If I were to buy an Xbox One now, it would be along side Halo 5 in 2014 which still depends on the game.

These changes will certainly help Microsoft along, but they have already lost a good amount of potential buyers.  In other words, it may be too late to save themselves.

I figured they would change things once they realized nobody would buy the Xbox One the way things were. Lulz I think Microsoft handled the whole situation rather badly, but at least they listened to their customers in the end. Personally, I'm still waiting for details on indie game support.

They have yet to announce any new support to independent developers.  Last I heard they were not going to permit it sadly.  However the PS4 seems to be focusing on it.

Yeah. Even though Microsoft got rid of the DRM restrictions, I'm still not sure if I want to get an XB1. Hopefully they'll add in support for indie games. That would go a long way for convincing me.

Meanwhile, PS4 just released a video of their interface of the system and some new features (like a universal headphone jack and speaker built into the controller) which makes me still lean towards the PS4 opposed to Xbox One.

Only complaint about this video is the acting of the cast.  haha

Yep, it seems that while Microsoft was busy coming up with DRM implementations to please retailers and corporate game publishers, Sony was actually improving their console for gamers.

At least the Ouya looks promising for Independent games.  It is so small!
