Besides Nintendo, both Sony and Microsoft have revealed their upcoming games for our newest generation of gaming and I am here to give a personal perspective on the subject!

I am not sure where everyone else stands, but to me, Microsoft was lacking and it seems that Sony has the upper hand. The PS4 will feature many more intriguing exclusives at launch, it is $100 cheaper than the Xbox One and can also support offline gameplay which the Xbox One cannot. Now I am not stating the Xbox One will be a bad console (in fact I think far from this) however what is there to show for themselves? Project Spark? Ryse? Halo 5? All of these look great or interesting, (despite my disappointment on how Ryse is no longer a Kinect game after its debut trailer a few years ago) yet even these games seemed, well, boring overall.

For example, Halo 5 (if that is what the next chapter of the main story will be called) was pretty much just a teaser of Master Chief in jedi like robes for utterly no reason. He wears armor, so why does he need shrouds? And don't even get me started on the rebooted Minecraft for the Xbox One which looks identical to the Xbox 360 version. Anyway, every other highly anticipated upcoming games were basically third party titles and will be released on the PS4, Xbox One and possibly Wii U. Oh yeah, did I mention yet that Destiny blew me and pretty much everyone else away yet?

So here is a look at what we have for these consoles highlighted features, without discussing the specs.

Sony's PS4 will be marked at $400, allows you to play offline, has a solid amount of titles at release/within the first year including Kingdom Hearts 3, Star Wars Battlefront Reboot (About Time), Killzone 4 and more.

Xbox One has the potential to be amazing, but it is now a requirement to use Kinect 2.0, you cannot play offline at all and will be marked at $499 on release with only a few exclusives like Project Spark., Dead Rising 3, and Ryse. There were a few others (like Forza 5 and Killer Instinct) but were easily forgettable. Also, I can't forget to mention the awesome social integration into this console like Twitch, Skype and the unique built in DVR feature! These features could potentially allow others to watch live rounds of the Halo Games being played when the lobbies are full. Just an idea though...

Personally, I will buy the Xbox One along with Halo 5 at the Halo 5 release date in fall of 2014. If I buy any console this year, it will be the PS4 or possibly the Wii U depending on what they have to show tomorrow. If Smash Bros. 4 looks awesome, then maybe I will have my answer. I also think that the redesign on the Xbox 360 was pointless (yay for being quieter...) yet I do think it is awesome that starting next month, Gold users can download up to two free games per month, which will compete with Playstation Plus. Titles they revealed with this new feature included Halo 3 and Assassins Creed 2 so far.

So if you want cool new features and something above does intrigue you, then by all means go ahead and buy one of the new consoles! If not though, I suggest that you hold off on spending that money and wait until new titles come your way like Halo 5 or the Star Wars Battlefront Reboot. No need to rush when we already have great consoles.

Finally, for some games (like Assassins Creed 4 - Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Destiny and Halo 5) to look forward too on all consoles, here are some trailers! Sadly we did not hear or see anything about Uncharted 4 or Sly Cooper 5 yet, but hopefully tomorrow we will see the rumored debut trailer of the newest Smash Bros. installment and Zelda installment! Enough of the oddly true rumor of Super Luigi, please...

UPDATE - 6/11/13:

It recently came to my attention that the Xbox One will require the Kinect's camera to be turned on at all times. They also have not confirmed whether or not if purchases made with the Xbox 360 will be moved over to the new system (yet your gamertag will be transferable thankfully) and that to continue playing games on this console, you have to check in online within 24 hours or else those games will no longer be playable for an additional 24 hours after check in so it seems. Yet, the Blu Ray, DVD and Live TV features will always be accessible. These may change due to many outrages at these features, but as of right now I almost don't even want to get an Xbox One anymore, ever... I have only been on Xbox 360 maybe a total of five times within the past month, so how in the world can I make time to sign in at least once every 24 hours just to have the option to play a game the following day if I want to?

Besides this, Super Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U were confirmed! They are bringing back the original Mega Man from Mega Man X from the good old days on NES and SNES and adding him into the game! They also confirmed their involvement on a new HD Zelda, (without showing any gameplay) Mario Kart 8 which actually looks pretty good and some very uncreative titles like Super Mario 3D World Wii U, Donkey Kong Country Wii U and Super Luigi. Yet even these uncreative titles look like fun. At least we have some games to look forward to in the Wii U future.

Honestly, I did not think I would say this due to lack of creativity with Nintendo, but it does seem to be that even the Wii U will do better than the Xbox One as of right now unless some changes are made quickly. Below are the trailers to a few new titles shown today.

A new feature will be enabled starting July 1st this year, that allows all Gold users (new and old) to download up to two free games a month. Halo 3 and Assassins Creed 2 are among the titles to be available for free!
