Homeschooling?

Hey, I did a thread like this on another forums like this one, but with many more people. I didn't make the thread that time but was involved in it. Just curious as to what CBGamez forum members think of Homeschooling? Post reasons as of why or why not you like it. The only rule is to not criticize anyone who is or isn't if you don't believe in one or the other. What I mean by the other is Public Schooling and or Private Schooling. Also, Un-Schooling falls into the Homeschooling category.

I never really gone to a school or anything similar before. Hows homeschooling different? I'v been wanting to do it.

Homeschooling simply means you do school at your home instead, also it means you make your own schedule up. It is great, I love being homeschooled myself.

Homeschooling, personally is really stupid.

Why do you say that? Whether it's stupid or not, it works for some people. Both times I took the PSAT I scored higher than 95% of highschool students. That means that out of every 100 students that took the PSAT I'm in the top 5.

So I will ask, what do you mean by "stupid"? I'm guessing that you don't have a full understanding of how homeschooling works and are thinking "your parents teach you? that sucks", which in most cases is wrong. My parents don't teach me, I teach myself. My parents simply provide the materials for me to learn.

I will agree that homeschooling doesn't work for everyone, but for others it allows them to excel in their studies as you don't have to deal with a school's schedule (this is the main thing for me), inferior materials (in some cases), and distractions.

I agree with that Eagle, just didn't say that because I didn't want to start a fight and also to add in, every friend of mine who isn't homeschooled, wants to be homeschooled.

I ment, it's mostly a way to show of your parent's wealth.

You are kidding, right? Half the people, in fact more than half are not wealthy, in fact they seem to sell books to earn money for books.

I don't know of ANY poor people who get homeschooled.
Everyone i know who gets homeschooled is rich.

Well I didn't mean poor, I just meant not wealthy and I know no one who is wealthy and homeschooled. I mean average I know but no wealthy.

Homeschooling rocks, I've been home-schooled pretty much my whole life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

btw I'm not rich, just average.

Ya, I do too, so I guess you are technically homeschooled.

What grades are you guys in? I'm in 11th, so my homeschooling is going to end either this year or next seeing as I may go to college my senior year.

Technically I am in 10th grade but I do 11th grade work too. As for Eagle he should be in 11th but IDK how high he goes after that. We don't talk about work much except for when we need support. He will get what I mean about that last line.

You're exactly like my brother, he is in 10th and does the same work as I do.

Homeschooling is legit and totally fine with me. I ike it. I do think it makes some people a bit antisocial however.


Unschooling is screwed up. You let your kid do whatever the heck they want. Its sets these kids up for a perfect life with a horrible future.
