2011 - Forum Makeover again???

CJ, how about another Forum makeover for this year?

I think it's been probably a year since this theme was applied.

How about another makeover? We need some change every once in a while, and this while has arrived.

Well kind of makeover? I like the idea, but I don't want something drastically different. If we are just looking at colors, then I like all of the following colors (not in any specific order) and combination's of two (not all)...

Red
Yellow
Green
Blue
Purple
Orange
Gold
Silver
Black
Ice
White

I'd definitely go with White/Ice,

but CJ owns the forums, so I'd say he should make it clan colors. Black/Green maybe?

We used to have blue and white (which could be called ice) and we currently have black and white (which I call midnight). Obviously a makeover would be something new, but I don't want to change the layout much (so probably new colors like Jon said). I guess I will think on it.

The old blue was definitely not ice and there isn't much white in this version. 80% of it is black pretty much. lol

I say new colors would be cool. Green, white and black I like as an idea.

I agree that the blue we had was absolutely NOT Ice color.

But there's barely white here. I say it's 95% Black here. My eyes strain from seeing the same forum style everyday. I liked that we changed the forum theme last year, but we shouldn't keep a theme for too too long.

E|D updates their theme and color scheme on their forum every once in a while. They never keep a theme for tooo toooooo long.

Well if CJ wishes to change the forum style another time but not now, I wouldn't mind then.

I just wish to change it sometime when it really gets old. Hopefully when 2012 comes?

err, the darkness of the forums won't hurt my eyes but youtube does with it's white background. if we do change the forums can it still be dark? your talking about ice then can it be a dark ice? Keep away from white!

PS) instead of making it just a color make it creative like a landscape or make it simple like a design. BTW this current theme looks like the steam forums ^.^

I'm not very good at graphic design (well more like it takes me FOREVER to create something). And considering that I'm very short on free time with college coming up in a few weeks, I think we better stick to simple colors. I can look for a pre-made template but I haven't had too much luck with finding suitable templates in the past. I'll try though.

I doubt I have enough knowledge to do it, but if you gave me the size of the forums, or at least a basic template of these forums, I could try to work with one. I am not the best at it though, but can try. I did fine on the youtube template.

Well I'm afraid you would need a decent amount of experience in CSS coding as well as graphic design, in order to make a functioning forum template. We could work on it together if I had more time, but I'm trying to get a lot of other things done before I leave (such as the HG series).

That's fine. As I said, I doubted I had enough knowledge in it since I only use gimp 2. But I know about everything there is to know about gimp, but I figured you would need something more powerful. Anyways, I'm glad to help if you need me. I'll be back home tomorrow and all I need to do is get Jake's files for episode 18 and 19, that I'm still waiting for, to release episode 18 and start on episode 19.

Actually, Gimp 2 would probably work fine. The problem is that you would have to know CSS (a style sheet language) to put the images together into a forum template.

Which I don't. Lol. Could you use the same design as on here but just switch the colors? Because if I had a basic template of the forums I could just switch the colors and not the design. That I could do.

You mean you want me to send you the forum template?

I could change some of the colors but it wouldn't look good without redesigning part of the theme.

I could also change just the background picture, like how you can change a YouTube channel's background.

I would rather go for a Dark/Medium Blood Red and a Possessed Black.. I'm ok with change but man I want it a little darker...
