I just heard that PSN has recently claimed they are aiming for the network to return either late May or early June. However right after I heard that, apparently they claimed it might be later. Who knows if PSN will even come back this summer? XD

Well the point is that you're not paying for it, so you aren't entitled to it. Honestly they should just make a paid version that is cheaper than Xbox Live. I think $2 or $3 per month would be perfectly acceptable, and would allow them to keep the service running all the time.

I am not happy with Xbox Live because it is WAY more expensive than it needs to be.

However, by using the PSN store (where apparently over 40 million have used on there) they have lost credit information which was far worse than (for an example) Hanaford which only had roughly 3 millions users for their credit cards. So it might be for a free, but it isn't fair to any of the users and is far more serious than some realize.

It's back on, No one had gotten their Credit Cards stolen, there already is a Premium PSN called Playstation+.
This is the first time PS3 has gotten hacked, after 5 or so years, the 360 got hacked within the first few months so i wouldn't be talking XBox users.
When Playstation Store comes back on, everyone get's a choice of 2 games out of a pre-selected list of high-sellers on the PS Store. IE InFamous and LittleBigPlanet.

Xbox came out 7 years ago, so I doubt their security was very well then anyways and I actually know four people with PS3's who had their credit card information taken, so just because you didn't get something taken doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I've been following up on this news for the entire time it was down, there was maybe like 3000 cards that had been discovered that the hacker(s) had found out the numbers and info, but nothing was stolen. Of those 3000 was because they were in a outdated server. PSN is giving everyone a free yr of extra security and a month of free Playstation+ membership. Also, PS3 came out only a year after 360, so the security wouldn't been so much better.

I said at the time the security wasn't much better. Also, I don't know what news you heard, but many people were affected credit wise.

Do you have proof of this info? Popy is the PS3 player here, and he seems he knows more.

It was on WMUR News 9 which is a station here in NH which covered that story a month ago. My mother was thankful I didn't own a PS3 at the time due to it after hearing about the breach. Aside from that, the only other proof I would have is that four of my friends were affected (Dyllan D, Blaine, Nick T and Brandon)

I can look into it as well however right now on the news.
