Free MMORPG - Lord of the Rings Online

As many of you know I beta-tested LOTRO a couple years ago, before it was released. It was a pretty sweet game and when it came out it cost $15 a month to play. Well now it's free! There are still a few parts of the game restricted to "VIP Members" such as a few of the classes and items. However, apparently you can go almost anywhere in the world unlike Runescape's "free-to-play". Anyway, I am creating a new account and invite anyone who's interested to join me! Simply go here (click this link) and sign up using the form to the right of the page. Then you can start the free download. There's also a trailer on that page if you still aren't convinced to try it. It's free so why not?

NOTE: Before you start playing make sure you log on to the world "Meneldor". That is the world on which I created my character.

Info on the game: You can play as a human, dwarf, elf, or hobbit. After selecting your race there are a number of available classes such as Guardian, Minstrel, Burglar, and Hunter.

Is there a chat on there? I will try it I guess. I will try to get FlareonMaster.

There is a text chat for sure, I think there is a voice chat too (like Xbox Live) but I haven't figured out how to use it yet.

EDIT: There is definitely voice chat, I'm figuring out how to use it now.

Matt... Anyways, I will use skype probably.

Whoever reads this post, please consider trying out LOTRO. It's a fun game and totally free so why not?

To keep our clan (kinship) active on there we need 8 members and currently have six.

Yeah, there is this "kinship" system which is similar to a clan. Micah's friend Cody and I started one (named The Vipers of course) when I joined LOTRO. However we need 2 more members to make it official.

Nah, it is easier to use the game chat.

There's built in voice chat and it's easier to use than Skype, it's kinda like an Xbox Live party.

Not as good quality voice chat as Skype or Xbox live party, but definitely clear enough.
