Pking Guide

Okay, when you're pking, there are 3 very basic rules:

1) Always bring a Super Set (Super Attack, Super Strength, and Super Defence, if Possible, the Extreme variations of them) or a Ranging set (Super Ranging/Extreme Ranging pot, Super Defence, Prayer pots.)

2) If you can't take the opponent, run. Before you fight someone, always look them up on the highscores. The weakest looking opponents could have vengence and Dragon Claws. If you find your target has 99 range and 70 def, with vengence, hop to another Bounty World and turn your private on friends; you'll get another target in 10 minutes as long as you stay in a hot spot. If you find your opponent has no vengence, 99 strength, and their attack and defence aren't listed, take him.

3) Safe. Always Safe. When you're at 400 health, eat. Always bring Shark or Rocktail for they have heal a large amount of life points. When your opponent calls you a safer and threatens to run, ignore them, chances are, they won't run and you won't die as easily. (Whenever you eat past the opponents max hit, they call this safing; it's just another way of telling you they want to kill you faster).


There are some other rules, but they're not as important.

1) Never use protection prayers, it'll deteriorate your reputation.
2) If you have the Curse prayers, always use soul split (if you have it) and the leech prayers. Don't forget your prayer potions.
3) Bring an Antifire potion; if you're hit by the Dragon bolts (e) spec, it hurts; alot. It commonly hits over 500, and is known to hit a max of 780 with 99 range so always bring one.

Food: Rocktail > Tuna Potato > Shark > Cavefish > Monkfish (NEVER GO LOWER THAN MONKFISH!)

Potions: Prayer Potions x 2, Super Attack x 1, Super Strength x 1, Super Defence x 1, Antifire Potion x 1 OR Prayer Potion x 2, Ranging Potion x 1, Super Defence Potion x 1

MELEE:

Head Gear: Helm of Neitiznot > Berseker Helm > Rune Full Helm

Amulet: Amulet of Glory > Amulet of Power > Amulet of Defence > Phoenix Necklace

Torso: Rune Platebody > Fighter Torso > Rune Chainbody > Black D'hide Body

Legs: Dragon Platelegs/Skirt > Rune Platelegs/Skirt > Prosylete Platelegs/Skirt

Boots: Bandos Boots > Dragon Boots > Rune Boots > Climbing Boots

Weapon: Whip > Dragon Scimitar > Dragon dagger (p) (p+) (p++) > Dragon Longsword (Very last resort)

Left Hand: Rune Defender > Spirit Shield variations > Rune Kiteshield > Granite Shield

Cape: Skill Cape > Fire cape > Obsidian Cape > Ava's Accumulator > Ava's Attractor > Team Cape

Gloves: Barrows Gloves > Dragon Gloves > Regen Bracelet > Combat Bracelet > Spiky Black D'hide Vambraces

Ring: Berseker Ring > Ring of Life > Ring of Recoil

These are in order from best to worst, and the best possible variation is no more than 10m, so the budget is semi-reasonable. Many pro pkers use this (Darker Manz). As for weapons it is very intelligent to bring combinations (Dragon Scimitar + Dragon Dagger)

RANGING:

Head Gear: Armadyl Helmet > Helm of Neitiznot > Archers Helm

Amulet: Amulet of Ranging > Amulet of Glory > Amulet of Power

Torso: Armadyl Platebody > Black D'hide Body

Legs: Dragon Platelegs/Skirt > Rune Platelegs/Skirt > Prosylete Platelegs/Skirt

Boots: Snakeskin Boots > Rune Boots

Weapon: Morrigan's Javelin P++, P+, P, > Morrigan's Throwing Axe > Rune Crossbow > Magic Short Bow

Left Hand: Spirit Shield variations > Rune Kiteshield > Granite Shield

Gloves: Barrows Gloves > Regen Bracelet > Black D'hide Vambraces

Ring: Archer's Ring > Ring of Life > Ring of Recoil

Ranging is perhaps the best way to pk for it's extremely accurate, and hits very hard. Morrigan's Javelins should be brouht with a rune cross bow for maximum efficiency for the special hits well into the 400's and hits rapid 50's equalling the damage done. Runite bolts, Dragon bolts (e) and onyx bolts (e) are all highly recommended.

Unless you have 99 mage, magic is not recommended due to the fact it's not very respectable when you freeze people and attack from a distance and does not hit very well. If used at all, Vengence is a necessity for it rebounds the attack of the opponent, dealing 75% of the damage back e.g. 400 to you, 300 to them.

Well, this is a basic guide to pking and if you follow it, you should do well Bounty Hunter is much more profitable, and less dangerous than normal pking due to the fixed level margins in a normal world, and targets in a Bounty Hunter world drop loot well over 500k frequently. Good Luck!
