Goal Keeper or Goalie?

Most americans (Apple) think that the term for the position in which one gaurds a goal is "goalie" when only Americans, the people who have played soccer 14 years, call it that as opposed to the rest of the world, which has played soccer for centuries call is Goal Keeper. So what do you guys think? Goalie or Goal Keeper?

Goalie is the american term which is still right!
What you asked me was "who guards the net in soccor?". I said goalie and you said it was wrong...for the people who think im right vote goalie.

I believe what you say but personally I have always gone by the term of Goalie. My cousin is a pro Soccer player and now specializes in teaching it and he also goes by Goalie. Lol

I believe Goalie is the correct title in the USA while in other countries Goal Keeper is right. Keep in mind that in other countries soccer is called football so there is a name difference from the start.

Personally I think Goal Keeper sounds better.

Exactly, Apple, Americans might say it, but every single other country (183 other countries minus East Timor because they don't play soccer) says Goal Keeper.

Like I said myself, it is called other stuff but I have always called it Goalie as that is what I am used to. Keeper is also something I am used to but more used to Goalie. Goal Keeper must be the name of it for the Football version of Soccer in other countries.

I honestly don't see what it really matters, just proves there are different names for it depending on locations.

No offence, but a Canadian is telling a portuguese/english about soccer.

Um, you do know that everywhere people play soccer/football (depending on location) so obviously there is different names so why is there a reason to discuss the different names for a guard of a goal. (goalie, Keeper, Goal Keeper are all names)

See, there's where you're wrong. If I say something right, and apple does as well, my answer is more right than his, making his wrong in comparison the my answer which is right. Because mine is right and only one can be right, his is by default wrong, and ultimately, mine is correct even though both are. I hope that clarifies thing.
