Yeah I could definitely see that becoming a problem as bad as drugs (if not worse). There would definitely have to be some sort of system in place to keep our economy functioning. Of course with the development of robotics and AI, we may someday reach the point where everything is completely automated, possibly even including being fed and reproducing. So it's possible that someday we may be able to spend our entire lives in a virtual universe. Makes me wonder if THIS life is a virtual reality... it's not outside the realm of possibility.

And if we re-create virtual reality in this world, then it will be like inception with virtual reality! WE MUST GO DEEPER!

By the way, my engineering professor (who oversees all the senior design projects at my college) approved my senior design proposal. I'm planning to make a virtual reality video game which will be compatible with the Oculus Rift when it's released.

Well I'm majoring in Computer Science, which leaves the game development field open to me. I'm definitely considering it as a full career. :)Though I'd be best off working with a team on games because my artistic ability is severely lacking haha. I can imagine unique worlds and characters but I have trouble translating them into 3D models; I find that I'm much better working on the programming side of things.
