Runescape: Evolution of Combat

So basically, Jagex has decided to completely change the way combat works on Runescape. Long time members now have access to beta servers to try it out.

If you have a couple minutes, it might be worth checking out. This is the single biggest update since the creation of RS2. Basically what they wanted to change was the ability to rush people, and to fix the combat triangle. No weapons have special attacks anymore; rather, you unlock abilities during battle as an "adrenaline" bar rises. Bossing is also incredibly easier now. When your adrenaline bar is filled 100%, you unlock the use of one ultimate ability. Some of them hit 25% of your opponents life, so if four people are attacking a boss it can be one hit essentially. The hitpoints are completely reworked as well. I believe Jad isn't able to one hit players anymore, so if you were never able to get a fire cape before you might be able to now.

Ah yes, one of my friends who still plays RS is very excited about this update. I must say it looks pretty cool.

It's kinda fun at first, but then it gets old. I like the simplicity of Runescape, that's one of the reasons I still play it. If they were to release the beta, I think it'd be cool if they left some RS2 servers online.

2006 and 2007 were Runescape's best years, in my opinion.

I totally agree. All these Nex armors and super extreme uber pots just make it more and more fast paced, which makes it less and less like Runescape. Now with the combat update, it's basically World of Warcraft with crappier graphics.

The memories of runescape were fun. im glad i had them

I agree with Chris. It would be awesome if we all still played Runescape together, but we still have a lot of fun on other games.

Thinking back to the days when we all clan warred and recorded runescape movies, those were some epic times
