More Minecraft server news? ZOMG.

So apparently, my laptop here, running on Windows XP that was formerly Windows 2000, can host my Minecraft server. Only has 510 MB of RAM, and it runs the server smoothly. Soo... Yeah.

Wtf are the odds of that? It seems I've been setting up my Vista pc for along time for nothing LOL.

I guess I will use my laptop to host it. It's more convenient for me instead of going all the way downstairs to my laggy Vista pc.


By the way CJ, I constantly get a warning message on the console beginning with "Can't keep up!"

Is this normal? I've been getting them on both my Vista pc and this laptop.

The "Can't Keep Up!" means that some players (if not all) will likely experience lag. I got that message whenever more than a few people connected at the same time. The more people connected to your server, the more it will lag. Why not host it on your new PC?

Eh, I dont want the server console take the RAM on this new pc.

I think over time, my new pc can end up like my vista pc if I make it do certain stuff as time passes on, so I want to maintain this pc as much as I can.

By the way, the server is up. I'll try to keep it up all day and maybe 24/7.

My server isn't back up yet, but Micah is on his way home so it should be soon. For now we are using David's new server. I'll send you the IP in a PM.
